The beautiful  the coastal beaches & fabulous costal reserve, “ La Côte Sauvage” only 30 minutes drive also: Meschers, St George de Didonne, Royan, La Rochelle, Ile d’Oléron, Ile Aix, Ile de Ré (between 10 min  et 1h 30 by car) “La Palmyre”, has one of the finest zoos of Europe at the coastal reserve.

“Fa”, the famous archeological roman ruin port town is found 3 kms outside of Talmont sur Gironde.

The famous & historic towns of Cognac, Rochefort and Saintes (with its Roman ruins and labelled “a city of Art and History” by the French culture minister) are all worth visiting and nearby!

There are many “caves” (cellars) where you can sample and buy cognac, pineau (a local aperitif specialty) and the regional wines.

The region is famous for its cognac, oysters, melons, pineau and goat cheeses. Do have a taste!
